Hey there!
I'm Cameron Smith, a multi-media artist who has skills in 2D animation, character design, illustration, storyboards, voice over and motion graphics. I studied Theatre and Performance at the University of Waterloo and Animation at Conestoga College. I pride myself on an understanding of creative production both on the performance and technical side, as I believe having knowledge in both is the best way to support artists in the pursuit of making something truly great.
My Story
For as long as I can remember I would doodle in the margins of my notebooks. Dreaming up imaginary scenarios involving characters that didn't exist. I would do this all the way up until high school where I found a passion for live performance. That carried me for many years, but I always found myself returning to the pen. Wanting to create characters and stories of my own. Once the Covid-19 pandemic hit and all live performance took a halt, I had a hard conversation with myself and asked: am I currently doing what I am 100% passionate about?
Evidently, the answer was no. So I set out to give my all into this new career venture of animation. I spent all day dreaming about cartoons and imaginary worlds anyways, why not make a life out of that? I took what I knew about theatre and creative production and got into Conestoga College to learn a new skillset to add to the ever growing toolbox I already had. And that's where you find me today! Ready and willing to help you make your project the absolute best it can possibly be.
